Land First | Concern Worldwide

This film was made during my two years spent living in India as part of a Commonwealth Broadcasting Association Bursary.

A feature-length documentary following a month-long march by a group of Gandhian activists – adherents of Indian leader Mahatma Gandhi – known as ‘Ekta Parishad’ (‘Unity Council’) through the remote tribal belt of Orissa

Ekta Parishad’s aim was to raise awareness of land rights in remote tribal communities, to investigate abuses of them, and to pressurise the state government to act. The documentary is a mixture of observational filming and investigative journalism.

I executive produced and directed.

Screened at festivals globally.
